Accessibility Statement

This is an accessibility statement from Educate.ie outlining the measures we take to support the accessibility of our websites, mobile and desktop applications (Apps), ebooks and digital resources.

Our commitment to accessibility

At Educate.ie, we are dedicated to ensuring our entire range of digital content – including our websites, Apps, ebooks and other digital learning resources – is accessible to all individuals, including those with disabilities. We are continually working to enhance the user experience and adhere to the European Accessibility Act (EAA) and European Union (Accessibility Requirements of Products and Services) Regulations 2023, along with accessibility standards, specifically the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.

Compliance status

Educate.ie’s digital platforms and resources are currently partially compliant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA due to the limitations that are detailed in the section below.

Known limitations

While we strive for complete accessibility across all our platforms, you may encounter a few limitations, particularly in older content. For example:

  • Older PDF documents and ebooks: Some legacy files may not be fully optimised for compatibility with screen reader software, lacking proper tagging and structure.
  • Video captions: Accurate closed captions or transcripts may be missing from some older videos and third-party content.
  • Images and graphics: Some images, charts and educational graphics in legacy content may lack descriptive alternative text (alt-text) or long descriptions.
  • Legacy App content: Certain features or content within older versions of our Apps may present accessibility challenges.

This list is not exhaustive. We are actively working to address issues and will continuously monitor and audit our digital platforms and content to make improvements.

Feedback and contact information

We value your input regarding the accessibility of Educate.ie’s digital platforms and resources. Please inform us immediately if you experience any accessibility barriers related to our websites, Apps, ebooks or other digital content:

We aim to acknowledge and respond to all feedback within 5-10 business days.

The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) is the regulatory authority for the accessibility of ebooks and dedicated software. Visit the Contact section of their website for details.

This statement was last updated on 20/02/2026. It will be reviewed and updated as we continue to improve the accessibility of our digital platforms and content.
