If you’re currently using, or plan to adopt, an Educate.ie title in your classroom, our Teacher’s Resource Books (TRBs) have your name on them! TRBs are designed to support and enhance your teaching experience, providing you with valuable resources to ensure your lessons are engaging and effective.
One of the primary benefits of a Teacher’s Resource Book is its comprehensive suite of tools tailored to each subject. These can include lesson plans, worksheets, and assessment materials that save you time and effort in preparing for classes. With these resources at your fingertips, you can focus more on delivering quality education and less on administrative tasks.
Furthermore, TRBs offer insightful tips and strategies to cater to diverse learning styles within your classroom. This adaptability helps you meet each student’s unique needs, promoting a more inclusive and effective learning environment.
The use of TRBs also fosters consistency and alignment with the curriculum, ensuring that you cover all necessary content comprehensively. This not only helps in meeting educational standards but also prepares students thoroughly for exams and assessments.
To get ahead of the game, contact your local rep with a copy of your booklist to discuss your subject’s Teacher’s Resource Book. Let’s get yours sorted for the coming academic year and make teaching a more enjoyable and productive experience!

Following the release of the procurement guidelines for the Junior Cycle Free Book Scheme, we wanted to reach out and extend our full support to you and your school community as you engage with this new funding model.
Here are five key takeaways to simplify the detail, and how Educate.ie can help.
Funding Allocation: Funding can be used for schoolbooks and educational resources, but not student devices. We are delighted to confirm that Educate.ie has the widest range and choice of schoolbooks for Junior Cycle of any publisher with textbooks published in 19 subjects.
Definition of “Schoolbooks”: “Schoolbooks” means textbooks, ebooks, workbooks, novels, plays and examination papers. Educate.ie can supply you with printed textbooks, ebooks or workbooks as required. We have the largest range of published Junior Cycle plays; and can supply you with examination papers. Simplify your procurement process by purchasing from us.
Schools’ Discretion: “Schools have the discretion to choose the books and resources that best meet the needs of their students.” Educate.ie has a huge number of market-leading, up-to-date titles for Junior Cycle, many of which are likely already in use in your school. We offer an unrivalled range of option subjects, languages, and core textbooks; so we are confident we can meet the needs of your students, not to mention the printed and digital resources we offer for your staff.
Grant Funding: “For the 2024/25 school year the grant funding is set at a rate of €309 per student in year 1, 2 and 3 of the Junior Cycle. This provides for the cost of all schoolbooks and the cost of classroom resources.” We are happy to confirm that we will fit our pricing within your funding… and yes, we know there needs to be plenty left over for copybooks and calculators!
Payment Timeline: “It is envisaged that the book grant for the Junior Cycle Schoolbooks Scheme will be paid to schools no later than 31 March 2024 so that schools will have the necessary funding in place to implement the scheme in advance of the commencement of the 2024/25 school year.” All of our textbooks are printed and ready to go for the coming school year. Start the conversation with us now if you would like to see samples, place an order, or utilise our expertise.
Our books and resources are proudly printed by Walsh Colour Print, our sister company, and stored at our premises in Castleisland, Co Kerry.
As the only Irish educational publisher with an in-house printing facility, we ensure a small carbon footprint in delivering our titles.
With warehousing on-site, our books move mere minutes from the printer to the warehouse via forklift, unlike weeks or months for others.
Your order is swiftly fulfilled from our Castleisland warehouse directly to your school, ensuring just one journey from printing to your door.
Track the journey easily on Google Maps; our proximity means your books travel a short distance, guaranteeing availability.
Choose Educate.ie for the shortest journey to your door and enjoy quick turnaround times, avoiding lengthy out-of-stock periods.
Print Technology & Low Waste
We pioneered H-UV printing presses in Europe in 2016, minimising environmental impact by eliminating solvent emissions and reducing CO2 emissions.
H-UV ink delivers high gloss and scuff resistance without the need for coating.
Printing in Ireland enables us to manage stock efficiently, minimising waste and avoiding overprinting.
Our digital printing presses offer quick setup, reducing waste and carbon emissions by 30% compared to traditional methods.
State-of-the-art web printers scan every sheet for print quality, reducing paper wastage to as low as 50 sheets per job.
Our commitment to efficient printing practices ensures minimal raw material usage, contributing to a sustainable future.
Paper and Packaging
Our books use FSC-approved paper, ensuring responsible forestry practices and protection of plant, animal species, and worker welfare.
Say goodbye to plastic wrap; our textbooks and activity books are now packaged with secure straps, reducing plastic usage by over 90%
Power Supply & Heating
97% of our electricity comes from renewable sources.
Our wind turbine in Castleisland, operational within 12 months, will generate 100% of our power.
This turbine has a 900 kw capacity. Our business needs are 800 kw, meaning that when the wind is blowing, not only will the wind turbine generate 100% of our power, but we will also be sending the excess back to the grid.
We reuse heat from our printing machines to warm our Castleisland premises, eliminating the need for an oil heating system and four oil tanks.
Day-to-Day Green Initiatives
Our offices have separate green, brown and general waste bins to encourage waste segregation, composting and recycling and ensure unavoidable waste is disposed of in a responsible way.
We encourage and support staff to modify behaviours by cutting out unnecessary business travel, saving water and reducing energy usage.
Educate.ie’s offices are a single-use-free zone with no disposable cups and cutlery; and no individual condiments such as sugar and salt.
What’s Next?
Our green story is always about what we can do next, and our sights are already set on:
Installing solar panels to supplement our wind power, for those days when the wind is not blowing.
Planting native Irish trees on a 13 acre site in Co Kerry which will act as a carbon sink, drawing carbon from the atmosphere and increasing diversity of plant and animal species. It is estimated that 75.5 tonnes of carbon will be sequestered each year, helping us toward achieving carbon neutrality.
